It includes a new way for firstline workers and personal users to get tasks and some other Planner features, and marks significant progress in unifying tasks across different Microsoft tools and services. The integration of Planner and To-Do into Teams as the Tasks app, announced last year at Ignite, is now finally starting to roll out, creating a single place to see tasks from multiple sources. Even when Microsoft introduced new task management tools - Planner for team tasks and To Do (based on Wunderlist) for individual tasks - that used the Exchange task format from Outlook rather than creating yet another task format, connecting the different task lists meant extra work: installing the To-Do app or Planner app in Teams, or creating Power Automate flows. Each sprint is associated with a Taskboard that supports tracking tasks defined for the sprint. Kanban boards track requirements, are sprint-independent, and provide a cumulative flow chart for monitoring progress. Your Kanban board is one of two types of boards available to you. The association depends on the process selected when the project was created, team configurations, and process customizations. To add a set of Kanban boards to support a new team, see Add a team.Įach team's Kanban boards are associated with one or more work item types. A team admin can configure the assets to support the way the team works. When you add a team, you add many team assets. You only need to add a Kanban board when you want to support a new team. Each project defines a default team and set of boards for that team. If you have a project, you have a Kanban board. They can add tasks and change task status. Users with Stakeholder access can't exercise these board features: add work items, drag-and-drop work items to update status, or update fields displayed on cards.To learn more, see Set permissions and access for work tracking.
